Parent Teacher Association

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is an enthusiastic, energetic group of parents who support St Heliers School in its day-to-day activities throughout the year.

Meetings
The PTA is affiliated with and responsible to the Board of Trustees and holds a meeting on the first Wednesday of each month at 7.30 pm in the school staffroom. All parents are warmly invited to attend these meetings and/or help provide parent support in many of the PTA's activities throughout the year.

The PTA is an excellent medium for parents or caregivers to meet others, particularly those who are new in the school or the area, and who have an interest in the activities of their children inside and outside of school.

- Organising and repairing resources
- Parent morning teas
- Parent evenings
- Making resources
- Fundraising
- Family dances
- Family barbeques
- Round the Bays - hospitality sites

Friends of the PTA
The “Friends of the PTA” is an initiative introduced by the PTA in 2007. It is for people who do not want to be a member of the PTA and attend meetings but are happy to lend a helping hand when needed. Even if you are only able to help a little, it would make a significant difference to us and would be greatly appreciated!

Some examples of the things that the Friends of the PTA will help with include things such as collating orders, manning cake stalls, setting up the hall for functions, helping at the school disco’s etc. Being a Friend of the PTA can also be a great way to meet other parents in the school whilst having fun and helping out.
