Year 6 Market Day

On December 3, our Year 6 young entrepreneurs held a Market Day in the school hall, proudly sharing their creativity and skills with their peers, Year 5 students, parents, caregivers and grandparents. They enjoyed a wonderful morning showcasing their final products / items they had planned, created, adapted, and prepared for sale.

This Market Day linked to financial literacy, giving students the opportunity to explore concepts such as managing a float, repaying initial costs, and understanding the money cycle involved in creating a product as well as profit and loss.

The majority of groups made a profit, and the classes have chosen to donate part of their earnings to Starship Hospital and SPCA New Zealand.

The students had an amazing time, and we are all appreciative of the support they received.
