Vision

Navigating Success Together

Kia mahi tahi ai te waihoe

Paddling in unison, we journey as one.

This vision embodies the essence of collective effort and unity. It draws from the Māori proverb, "He waka eke noa" — We are all in this together — highlighting the importance of shared purpose and mutual support. Just as a waka (canoe) moves swiftly when all paddlers are synchronised, our collective progress is amplified when we align our efforts and work collaboratively.

Incorporating the principle of mahi tahi — working together — emphasises the strength found in unity. This concept is deeply rooted in Māori culture, where collaboration and collective responsibility are paramount. By embracing mahi tahi, we acknowledge that our combined strengths and shared commitment are vital to overcoming challenges and achieving our goals.

Our values are further enriched by whanaungatanga — the sense of kinship and connection. This principle fosters strong relationships, mutual respect, and a shared sense of belonging, reinforcing our commitment to collective success.

Together, these principles guide our journey: by paddling our waka in unison, we harness the power of collaboration, honour our shared heritage, and navigate towards a future of shared achievement and success.

This vision can be applied to our various contexts:

  • Community: Ensuring strong partnerships and fulfilling connections between teachers, students, and parents.

  • Staff: Building strong teams and collaborative work environments.

·        Students: Promoting student-centred progress and achievement for all
