Great Results at Bay Suburbs Hockey

Fantastic results today!

Our Year 6 team came first in the Competitive Division out of 8 teams. It was 0-0 in the Final against Churchill Park, so we went to sudden death, where first goal wins. After a couple of nail biting near misses on both sides, Zach B made a break down the field, and  tripped while simultaneously shooting for goal. He scored, even though he and his hockey stick had parted company and he was face down on the ground. What a finish!

In the Development Division, our Year 5 team also made the Final, coming second to St Thomas. They won all three of their pool games too. Our Year 6 team came fifth out of the 8 teams, with one win and two losses in their pool group.

It was a fantastic day, with lots of sportsmanship on display. There was lots of lovely feedback from our parents too, about teamwork and respect. Our Year 8 umpires, Emma D and Alice P, also did a great job.

Go St Heliers!
