Eastern Zone Y7/8 Girls Hockey

The girls competed at the Eastern Zone Hockey Tournament at Auckland Hockey in Pakuranga on Tuesday 17 June. This is a report from Team Manager, Pam Saviden:

'A fun day had by all with the girls shining in the end with two wins. They gained more confidence as the day went on, it was tough against the girls from private schools who have a lot more skills and, I understand, a lot more time playing the game. It was a hectic day, the constant subbing of 13 girls filling 7 places on the field kept us busy and I am grateful my daughter Kelly Thomas was there to help. However, it is exciting for St Heliers that you have that many girls keen to play hockey. The girls representing St Heliers were fantastic and an excellent representation of the school. It was a pleasure being with them.’
